MASTERPIECE
Words by Sarah Harris ©2022
In Our Empty Showroom
One Once Filled With Beauty
Colors Blended Together
Displayed Artistically.
All Our Painted Stories
Of What We Used To Be
Now Are Just Reduced
To Broken Memories.
We Weren't A Masterpiece,
We Were A Catastrophe,
Just Paint Spilled On The Floor.
Broken Glass And Empty Frames,
Where Our Love Hung Once Before.
We Weren't A Masterpiece,
We Were A Catastrophe,
Heartbreak Carved On The Walls,
Vandalized Graffiti Art
Scattered Down These Darkened Halls.
In Our Empty Showroom
Left To Clean Up Our Mess.
Walking on Shattered Glass,
Painting Over Our Regrets.
In The Midst Of Our Destruction
Flooded With These Memories
This Broken Art Reminds Me
Of Our Tragic History.
We Weren't A Masterpiece,
We Were A Catastrophe,
Just Paint Spilled On The Floor.
Broken Glass And Empty Frames,
Where Our Love Hung Once Before.
We Weren't A Masterpiece,
We Were A Catastrophe,
Heartbreak Carved On The Walls,
Vandalized Graffiti Art
Scattered Down These Darkened Halls.
I Sifted Through Our Wreckage,
Creating Beauty From The Mess.
It's True That Art Can Be Subjective,
So I'm Left With No Regrets.
We Weren't A Masterpiece,
We Were A Catastrophe,
Just Paint Spilled On The Floor.
Broken Glass And Empty Frames,
Where Our Love Hung Once Before.
